The launch of the TV is a first by Xiaomi outside China and the company expects to disrupt the Indian market with the “world’s thinnest LED TV offering”.The 55-inch Mi TV 4, with a 4K HDR display, goes on sale on the 22nd of February. It's a good-looking television that's just 4.9mm thick for most of it's body, and it features Xiaomi's PatchWall interface, that's been redesigned keeping in mind the Indian audience. It has been aggressively priced at Rs.39999 only. This price point allows Xiaomi to capture a market that traditionally chose smaller displays for a better feature set.

The television model features a 4K panel with HDR10 and has an angular design with a minimum thickness of just 4.9mm. One will get Wi-Fi ac as well as Bluetooth 4.0. Other specs include an Amlogic T968 chipset, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, three HDMI ports, two USB ports, along with Ethernet, S/PDIF, and RCA connectors. The total programming from the services that are going to be provided comes to around 500,000 hours. Around 80% of it is free, making it much more accessible to those who are yet to make the switch to paid OTT services.

Xiaomi and Sensara have actually been working together for three years now, since Sensara has been providing it's IR and DTH expertise to Xiaomi for it's Mi Remote functionality. And with this television, they have worked together for over six months to successfully provide the PatchWall feature. With PatchWall, the user can easily move from one piece of content to the next, which will be played from whichever provider has it. Mi TV 4 is exactly what India needs to bring down the crazy prices of the TV market. It quality panels can be manufactured at really user affordable prices and that they can perform equally well.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4 will be available for purchase once again in India on Tuesday, February 27 in the second round of flash sales. The new Mi TV 4 will be in stock on Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home offline stores starting 12pm IST on Tuesday, but being a flash sale, we can expect the TV to go out of stock pretty soon. This Mi TV 4 sale comes soon after the inaugural sale on Thursday, February 22 that saw the most expensive Xiaomi product in India go out of stock in 10 seconds, according to the company. The Chinese brand has not clarified how many units were up for sale in the first round.
