Finally, the instant app feature in Google Play Games. Sundar! Atti Sundar! Isn’t it? (Pun

Intended) Well, since our Indian boy, Mr. Sundar Pichai has become the CEO of Google, he

has made sure to let people experience the luxury of the game before even installing it. Yes, you heard that quite right! It has been a year that Google launched Instant Apps, through this; the developers intend to give users a native app experience without having to install anything. The app would load with a simple click on the link. But today, this is applicable to games too.

Google Play has rolled out something brand new for all of us to enjoy: the Instant App. The general idea is that users will have the luxury of testing out an app before having to download it or even better, purchase it. It's still a brand new concept and will most inevitably go through the bugs and issues stage and will also need to be introduced for a lot of apps that don't have the feature yet. We believe Sundar Pichai was deeply involved in the creation and execution of this feature.

In a day and age where time is of the essence and attention spans range anywhere from zero to a worldwide average of 7 minutes, a button that let's you try something out for an instant seems to be a stroke of genius. This feature does negatively impact app creators since it invariably reduces sales. That one game on the play store you always wanted to play and were saving up for can now be tried out for free and might even prevent a consumer from making a purchase if the product fails to satisfy their needs. So it's only natural that app developers and creators would vehemently oppose such a feature.

On the flip side, however, it gives some apps with a hefty price tag, a chance to prove their mettle to a consumer with the Instant App button; if the customer likes the app, he/she might just purchase it.

The feature is currently only available in Android for games like Panda Pop, Clash Royale, and Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire, etc. So far Apple seems to be doing nothing about it and it looks like iOs is going to stay the same for now. Sorry iPhone users!

There are a few rumors floating around about Google stealing this idea from local app

vendors but there are no accusers so far, so these rumors are going to stay the same for

now.

Google is going to start adding more and more apps to the list of "Try Now" apps this year. It's starting to look like Google listens to its customer's voice and tends to work towards building a better platform and experience for the customer.

Google has already made a few games compatible with Play Instant. These include Clash

Royale, Words With Friends, Solitaire, Final Fantasy XV, Bubble Witch 3 Saga, and Mighty Battles as some were mentioned above. Google will start adding more games on Google Play instant later this year. Google will also extend this “Try Now” feature to third-party sources and not just Play Store.

This feature is a boon for the gamers online and offline as well. But at the same time, this will be a challenge or more of a problem for the developers who got the chance to sell their games based on the covers and good looks on the outside. Google decided to give customers the power to choose and learn about the product or the services (here games) they want to use before buying or downloading. Overall it was a right step taken by Google for it's billions of users in play store. All in all, we at TAP appreciate the efforts Google is

putting in to ensure it's customers have the power to choose and learn about a product

before indulging in its purchase and use.
